Problem decoding multiple Code39 barcodes

Jul 30, 2013 at 8:34 PM
I am evaluating ZXing.NET for use in our application, and we are required to pick up some information from faxed documents. It seems 1D bar codes are the best bet for this (due to issues with the quality of faxed documents and the vertical scan resolution)

I need to extract 3 pieces of information from the fax, and have generated 3 code39 barcodes on the cover page. But ZXing only ever seems to pick-up the middle and top bar codes

Failing image is here

I am using the multi-purpose BarcodeReader instead of the Code39Reader - as the Code39Reader doesn't offer a 'DecodeMultiple' method
var reader = new BarcodeReader()
{
    AutoRotate = true,
    TryHarder = true,
    TryInverted = true,
    PossibleFormats = new List<BarcodeFormat> { BarcodeFormat.CODE_39 },
};

var image2 = Bitmap.FromFile(decodeAttempt.SourceFilePath) as Bitmap;
var decodeMultipleResults = reader.DecodeMultiple(image2);
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

With the current version of the WinForms demo application from the source code repository ZXing.Net finds 3 barcodes.
Version 0.11 finds only 2 (like you wrote).
Please try the current source from the source code repository.

Thank you very much.

Building and using the latest source code now reads all 3 bar codes.

Cheers!
