ZXing.Net with Html5, JavaScript, and iPhone/iPad

Hello. I've stumbled upon your CodePlex project in my research for a mobile web app solution for scanning barcodes. We are developing a HTML5 mobile web app using ASP.Net MVC 4.5, jQuery Mobile, jQuery, etc. and need to be able to scan barcodes. I read your documentation and it mentions Silverlight and Windows Phone. Can I use ZXing.Net with jQuery or JavaScript to be used in a mobile web app on iPhones/iPads? Thanks for your help.

I'm not absolutly sure if it will work with HTML5 on iPhone/iPad. I have no developer experiences with such devices.
For Windows Store Apps there is HTML5/JS support with a demo app:

There is also a special version of ZXing.Net which contains extensions for the three main platforms for mobile devices.
But it is not written with HTML5 in mind.

Another way could be the use of a ASP.NET webservice. You can develop a webservice based upon ZXing.Net which can decode
barcodes inside of images. But with that you have to send every image to the service. You can't decode locally on the device.

At the project page of the java based zxing you can get a C++ port which works/should work with iOS.
Perhaps there is a bridge between HTML5 and native libraries.
